Star of the Show – Home Staging
There are a lot of houses on the market at this time, and that means competition for your house. With home staging, you can get close to a 200% return on your investment. Whether or not you know it, we stage ourselves every day – at work or a night on the town. So think about this: Why are you not staging your home when it is your biggest asset?
Below, we have listed a few suggestions on what YOU can do to make your home a little nicer for potential buyers.
- Clean, clean, clean – Think about it like this. We all know that hotel rooms have been used by other people, but we don’t want to see that when we walk into the room. With that said, keep everything keep it q-tip clean. Buyers don’t want to buy your dirt; they want your house.
- Remove clutter – Let’s think about the bathroom for a second. I am sure many of you have your daily toiletries on the counter like toothbrushes and razors. Remove it! And don’t just cram it under the sink; buy some caddies to put under the sink to make your life easier.
- Take it outdoors – Weed your flower beds. If your flower beds are nonexistent or overgrown and ½ dead, think about planting some annual flowers. Curb appeal is a big deal. It is the first impression of your home and more so, the first impression of your potential buyers new home.
- Make small repairs – Patch small holes in the wall (toothpaste works well for tiny holes). Touch up paint on the walls. Or better yet, get a color consultation for a color scheme that will appeal to a broad range of buyers. Take a look around your home with a critical eye and tackle a few small things that have been on your to do list for a while.
