I started decorative painting over 25 years ago with my mother, who has a decorative painting and interior design business. My passion for decorative painting and interior design grew and I decided to further my knowledge.
I studied the art of decorative painting in Florida, Kentucky and Italy for several years with many well known and respected artists. My constant learning and studying of new products, tools and methods keeps me on the cutting edge of new, high end and unique one-of-a-kind looks. You will find my work throughout the upstate in homes and businesses as well as places from Vermont to the Florida Keys and one of my favorite places, ITALY!
Being a distributer of a line of faux finish products called, “Aqua Finishing Solutions TM “ I wanted to teach the methods of decorative painting to the do-it-yourself enthusiast . So, in 1998 I opened my first studio in Pendleton, South Carolina. At my studio I sold products and sundries, taught numerous classes on decorative painting and commissioned out my talents commercially and residentially. I offered several classes at Tri-County Tech as well. My studio remained in Pendleton for about 3 years before I moved to my new location on Main Street in Greenville. Distinctive Finishes stayed in Greenville until 2005 and then moved to a studio located on my personal property.
My artwork has been featured in Profiles (a faux finishing magazine), The Greenville News, The Anderson Independent as well as certain television shows such as; Paint! Paint! Paint!, The Peggy Denny Show and Your Carolina with Jack and Kimberly.
Decorative painting is a passion of mine. I sincerely enjoy “Turning the ordinary into extraordinary”.
