Holiday Planning to Help Reduce Stress

1373026_24335944The best gift you can give yourself this holiday season is to start in advance. Though reminders of the holidays seem to arrive earlier each year, the lack holiday planning can affect your ability to get things accomplished this season.

So to make your holidays merrier—and less stressful—here are a few ideas of where to start.

 

September
Since life is back on track after summer vacation and kids are back to school, you should start to make some lists. Who will you mail send cards to? Who do you need to buy gifts for? Will you have any visitors? You can even start browsing stores.

October
Rather than waiting for Black Friday, look for special offers all year round. Since you have time, look for presents that will be meaningful and thoughtful.

November/December
Now that you’ve done some holiday planning and prepped some, you can go a step further by writing holiday cards to send out at a later date. Again, you have time to make it personal and from the heart, so go for it. Once the cards are in the mail, it’s time to get down to preparing a menu, doing some holiday decorating, and enjoying the season with friends and family.
